 the major changes made to the game since the first version:

  1. Gun System:
  • Added gun with animation frames (gunani_0 through gunani_11)
  • Shooting mechanics with beam effect
  • Bullet count and pickup system
  • Maximum of 3 bullets
  • Bullet pickups that spawn periodically
  • Visual beam effect when shooting
  • 'X' key to shoot

   2. Giant Enemies:

  • Added larger enemies that use giant_run_0 through giant_run_3 frames
  • Larger hitbox (60 pixels vs 30 for regular enemies)
  • Deal 2 damage instead of 1
  • Spawn every 9-16 seconds
  • Scaled to 75% size

   3. Game State Management:

  • Added proper game state handling (menu, playing, high scores)
  • Added start_game() and stop_game() functions
  • Better enemy spawn management
  • Proper cleanup when switching states
  • UI Improvements:

    4. Added bullet counter display

  • Added crosshair cursor
  • Added boss health bar
  • Menu buttons and screens

   5. Gameplay Balance:

  • Starting with 1 bullet instead of 0
  • Adjusted spawn timings for different enemies
  • Added progressive difficulty with speed_factor
